Yes, we welcome applications from any school across the Teesside region. Currently around 20% of Post 16 students did not study at Macmillan Academy in Years 7-11.
Post 16 does not have a catchment area. Unlike secondary schools this is not a requirement. If you live outside the catchment area for Macmillan Academy you are still eligible to apply for a place at Post 16.
You can apply online by completing the online application form.
You can apply via Post by filling out the application form which can be found on our how to apply page and sending it back to us at:

Once we have received your application, we will be in touch regarding a 1:1 interview. This will take place either at your school or at the academy.
If you are a Year 11 student at Macmillan Academy there is no need to fill out any forms.
Once we have received your application, we will be in touch regarding a 1:1 interview. This will take place either at your school or at the academy.
The interview is informal so there is nothing to worry about. We will discuss which courses you are interested in studying and your career aims. We will ask you to bring your most recent report and predicted GCSE grades, as this will help us to advise on the best courses for you.
If you have been successful, you will receive a letter confirming your conditional offer.
We require all students to study either 3 subjects or the equivalent (some vocational qualification are equal to two subjects).
We do not have any dedicated transport available, however Stagecoach buses run regularly, with a stop directly outside the academy.
We are able to provide assistance to those students most in need of financial help through the 16-19 Bursary Fund. This can be used for such things as help with food costs, transport, books, stationery and equipment.
For 16-19 year old students, a £1,200 per year bursary is available for students in, or previously in care, or for those in receipt of income support. The Discretionary Bursary is available to every student who meets all the criteria.
The application process is simple, quick and confidential. If we can help you, we will.
Post 16 students are not required to stay on site when not in timetabled lessons.
Whilst there are various facilities to use in your non-contact time, you can leave the site as long as you sign in and out at Post 16.
