COURSE Overview
Business is an applied general qualification. It is for post-16 learners who want to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment in the business sector. The qualification is equivalent to one A Level and aims to provide a coherent introduction to the study of the business sector.
Title: BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business (equivalent to one A Level)
Type: Vocational
Entry Requirements: Standard entry requirements. Prior study of business studies is not essential.
Course Length: 2 Years
This 2 year course consists of 4 units:
- Unit 1: Exploring Business
- Unit 2: Developing a marketing campaign
- Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance
- Unit 8: Recruitment and Selection
- Unit 1: Internally assessed assignment
- Unit 2: Set task in exam conditions, including a pre-release
- Unit 3: Written exam
- Unit 8: Internally assessed assignment
Many different career paths including auditing, banking, communications, distribution, energy and utilities, hospitality and leisure, IT, insurance, journalism, law, logistics, manufacturing, media administration, production management, public relations, the public sector and defence, risk management and tax.
